One disadvantage of lithium is that it can have a short life span. This means that you will have to replace the battery at some point in the future. But if you plan on using the battery for a long time, then you should definitely consider it. Lithium has a good safety record and has been used for all kinds of applications including dental lead and chemicals.Nickel cadmium has been used in battery production for quite some time now. The problem with nickel cadmium is that it has a short life span. It is prone to rusting and should be handled with care. One of the most recent breakthroughs in battery technology is magnesium. The magnesium electrolyte is what makes this battery chemistry different from other types. All of the other batteries use either lead or aluminum as the electrolyte. With magnesium, the magnesium oxidizes quickly to release the oxygen, then the other materials combine with it to produce an electrical current.Lithium ion has also proven to be very popular, because it can be made into cell phone battery. This makes the cell phone battery a whole lot more durable. The batteries are also able to withstand a lot more wear and tear than their counterparts. These are great for cars and other high mileage applications. If you plan on using lithium for a long time, then you should definitely check out this chemistry. Once you find the right battery for your needs, you will be very happy with the batteries. Lithium is cheap and long lasting. There are many other types of battery chemistry that you can choose from. How To Calculate Net Price Of College
How To Calculate Net Price Of College The government recently mandated that all colleges must include a net price calculator on their websites. However, many colleges easily found ways to hide theirs from students, according to an article in theUS News World Report. An accurate net price calculator is designed to give students and exact figure on what they will pay to attend (tuition plus room and board/additional fees subtracted by scholarships and financial aid). The government mandated these because many colleges were tricking prospective students into believing their schools were much more affordable than they actually were. Some colleges keep tuition low, but charge exorbitant amounts for room and board. Other schools publish high tuition fees but give nearly every student a scholarship, making students believe they are getting a better deal than they actually are. However, some colleges simply do not want students to know exactly what they will pay to attend. So, they hid their net price calculators or made them very difficult to find. Lynn OShaughnessy of the US News World Report picked six colleges randomly and searched their websites for their net price calculators. She picked three public colleges and three private institutions. She had a very difficult time finding them. OShaughnessy wrote that your chances of finding net price calculators are slim unless you are dogged about looking for them. Of the six schools OShaughnessy searched, only one, Auburn University, displayed its net price calculator where students could easily find it. Most of the other schools buried it on some random page, or hid it in blocks of text instead of displaying it as a link or on the admissions/financial aid pages. OShaughnessy had to use Google to find one schools net price calculator, which was hidden in a block of text on the scholarship page. At another school, she eventually found the calculator displayed as a small icon in the corner of a webpage. Many schools had cost of attending or similar pages; however, OShaughnessy rarely found the net price calculators there. Another school put its calculator at the bottom of a long page, making it very difficult to find. However, she was able to quickly find some schools by typing net price calculator into their search bars. The net price calculators are great tools for students and their parents. However, very few schools will actually publish their calculators in a logical place, and most schools will force students to dig around for them. But, every college must have one by law; so it is there and you will be able to find it eventually. First, you should try using the schools search box or doing a Google search. Also, by law colleges must make these accurate; however, it is still very difficult to create a completely accurate calculator because scholarships, financial aid and tuition figures are always changing. But, these can give you a good idea of how much you will pay for school.

Things to Know about AP® Exams
Things to Know about AP ® Exams Many high school students are probably aware of the terms Advanced Placement or AP, and of course, those taking AP classes understand that the courses offer a challenge for high-achieving students. But its worth reminding students important details about the AP exams and how performing well on these exams could benefit them. Here are five things to share: AP exams take place every May. Exams take place at high schools and exam centers only once a year. Students can get more details from the guidance counseling office. Students can take the exams more than once. If a student takes an exam and doesnt earn their desired score, they can retake it. The students score report will include scores for all AP exams taken unless the student requests that one be withheld. Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. The final score for each AP Exam offers a recommendation about how qualified students are to receive college credit and placement. Every college makes this decision differently. In 2018, the mean AP exam score was 2.89. Students can get college credit or placement for good AP scores. As mentioned, each college makes its own decisions about what scores receive credit or placement. Generally, students who earn a good score on an AP exam might be able to skip a course that a college requires for its general education requirements. AP scores shouldnt hurt a students chances for admission. Colleges consider a wide range of factors when admitting students, including the strength of their curriculum. So, while taking AP classes should bolster the application, a low AP exam score isnt likely to harm an applicants admission prospects. To learn more about AP scores and what they mean, students should meet with the guidance counselor at school and visit www.collegeboard.org.

Things You Learn As a Summer Camp Counselor
Things You Learn As a Summer Camp Counselor Image via. https://pixabay.com/en/sailing-lake-summer-camp-kids-2655756/ Humility: Working at the Bottom of the Food Chain One major lesson that you will learn from being a camp counselor is humility and understanding what itâs like to start at the bottom of the career food chain. When you go into an internship or even an entry-level position, you wonât have tons of power and you will, most likely, be asked to do things (like coffee runs) that seem to be way below your pay grade. Itâs so important to understand that you have to work your way up in the work world, and working as a camp counselor shows you that. As a camp counselor, you will be dealing with younger kids, moody parents, and making sure that no one ever gets hurt. You may be thinking that this is silly and that kids and parents should just ~mellow out~, but they canât and they wonât. Dealing with issues of this nature will make going on the coffee runs and printing out notes for a meeting so much easier and fun. Attention to Detail: Mistakes Cannot be Made when Working with Kids Working with kids, of any age, is not an easy feat. You have to ensure that they are safe at all times because they are under your care and supervision. Because of this, you will learn great attention to detail. If you are in charge of lunch time, snack time, medications, injuries, etc. you have to be extremely attentive of detail. You cannot make mistakes when working with kids. You have to be so careful of everything that the kids doâ"what they eat, what they say, their opinions about camp, etc. Therefore, from an early age, you will learn not to make mistakes in your future office job. It may not be a matter of life and death in the office, but your time at summer camp will prevent you from making mistakes and, therefore, you will look like a star employee to your superiors. Other employees who were never camp counselors might accidentally add Splenda to their bossâ coffee, but not you! Interacting with Kids: You May Want to Start a Family Some Day I love children, but this is not true for many people my age. Working at a summer camp may make you fall in love with children! Okay, this is probably overly optimistic, but it will teach you how to interact with kids and how to keep them safe without overstepping your boundaries as a camp counselor. Camp counseling jobs can help you land babysitting jobs (you can talk to various parents at carpool), aka you fill up your wallet with some more cash. Eventually, these babysitting jobs will help you learn about taking care of children in a more personalized setting, which is what you would be doing somewhat once you start a family (obviously still a very different vibe, but you know what Iâm saying). I am in no way saying to start a family right now, Iâm just saying that working as a camp counselor will teach you how to look after kids and how to find a nice combination of fun and discipline. Image via. https://pixabay.com/en/adventure-backpack-the-bag-scouts-1807495/ I promise you that working at summer camp is super fun and there are tons of different options as to what type of camp you could work out. You can do indoor, outdoor, full day, half day, athletic, artistic, multi-faceted, etc. You may not get paid that most amazing salary, but itâs a great way to learn a strong work ethic and learn the value of a dollar when you are in high school and in your early years of college. So, donât just stand there, start thinking about your plans for the rest of the summer and your plans for next summer so that you can experience all of the wonderful things that come with being a summer camp counselor! Happy summer and, to all of my fellow camp counselors, God bless you and good luck!
?? How To Encourage Your Children To Practise The Piano
?? How To Encourage Your Children To Practise The Piano How To Encourage Your Children To Practise The Piano How to encourage your children to practise the pianoOne of a parentâs responsibilities is to encourage children to do things they donât want to do. Sometimes piano practice is one of those things. If your child tends to avoid piano practice, coming up with ever-imaginative excuses, and youâre looking for ways to encourage and motivate them, youâve come to the right place.Weâve put together a few tips to help you encourage your child to practice the piano!-Set up a reward system-Avoid rigid times for practice-Finding the right piano tutor for your child-Turn your living room into a concert hall-Share your love of music-Ask your child to teach you something Set up a reward system Thereâs a lot of psychological study behind setting up rewards systems - psychologists call it operant conditioning. B.F. Skinner, the psychologist behind positive reinforcement, found in his experiments that when a reward is given for an action it is more likely to be repeated.Putting that into practice means setting up a reward system to make sure when they have completed the action you wanted them to (i.e. practising the piano), that action is positively reinforced!Sitting down and talking through a possible reward system with your child could be a way of beating the practising battle. Your child has had their opportunity to talk through what would make them more likely to stick to their practice and what can often stop them from doing it. It shows your child that you value their opinion and you were willing to hear their side of the story. Itâs important to remember that there are likely to be times where even the promise of a reward isnât enough, and thatâs okay. Itâs important to stick with it, but a little empathy on your part will go a long way!Avoid rigid times for practiceSo the deal is piano practice is twice a week for an hour, on Mondays and Thursdays? Any deviation from that means they arenât going to practise right? Not necessarily, thereâs nothing stopping practice being spread across the week on the days that make the most sense. That way youâre taking into account busier or quieter weeks, time with family and friends (equally important for their wellbeing) and working flexibly around your child's mood. There seems to be little point in enforcing rigid practising times when your child isnât going to get the most out of the practice session.Even as an adult, itâs often difficult to find the willpower to stick to the activities we know will benefit us. Have you ever skipped out on a gym session because youâre too tired or not in the mood? Many workplaces understand this, with some implementing âflex i-timeâ, where workers can spread their hours across the week in order to work when they are most productive! This is where you refer back to the reward system and agree on the amount of practice time across the week that you as a team think is beneficial. Itâs worth talking through what needs to be worked on during those hours and how that time is best divided. This week sight reading might be more important, but next week itâs all about learning a new song. Finding the right piano tutor for your childFinding the right piano tutor for your child is arguably the most important way you can encourage your child to engage with and commit to their piano practice. The relationship between student and tutor is incredibly important - it can mean the difference between your child looking forward to practice, or frustration at practice and disinterest during their lessons. Itâs important that the piano teacher adapts the lessons to reflect your childâs learning style and has a good rapport with your child. Itâs important that the role piano tutors play is more than just teaching scales - they must be a musician that your child can look up to!Equally, make sure you have a good relationship with the tutor - on the same page about how much practice is necessary, how quickly they should be progressing, and your childâs strengths and weaknesses when it comes to playing the piano. Turn your living room into a concert hallForget the Sydney Opera house, the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena. Grab the popcorn, your best glittery light-up headbands and prepare to turn your living room into your very own concert hall!Convincing their children to practise the piano can be a parentâs greatest struggle - especially after a long day at school when theyâre tired or hungry or snowed under with maths worksheets. How can you tell them they should spend an hour practising the piano when itâs stacked against all of those other pressing tasks? Making their debut on the living room stage as part of a fun-filled family evening will mean youâve given them a purpose to practise beyond their next lesson, and with you as their audience, their first experience of performing in front of other people will be a positive one. Twin that with lots of praise and some singing and dancing, and piano practice will become a relaxing occasion not a gruelling battle between parent and child - and youâll really feel involved in the whole experienc e! Sharing your love of musicPassion is really contagious. When two people share excitement for a particular thing it can be a real bonding experience - and youâre more likely to repeat the action! Sharing your favourite pieces of music with your children and really showing passion and enthusiasm for it is a sure fire way to keep up the momentum.Talk about the way your favourite songs make you feel, why they make you feel that way, what you love about that particular piece of music or song how that composer or artist managed to create that feeling. Then itâs their turn - ask them about their favourite song or piece of music. It could be a piece that they have been learning to play or it could be one they heard on the radio. It will really challenge your children to question music and think about music more deeply. It will engage their critical thinking!Having these conversations with your child will help you get to grips with their music preferences. Youâre showing a genuine inter est in their opinions, something that children aged 4 or 14 can really get onboard with. Ask your child to teach you somethingItâs time to get hands on!How better to get involved in your childrenâs experience than learning the piano with them? Ask your child to teach you a piece of music, or the new notes or chords they learnt this week. You can see first-hand how challenging but rewarding the experience of learning the piano can be - you might even want to take up some piano lessons yourselfIf you are trying to encourage your child to practice for upcoming grade exams, you can find our guide to everything you need to know about the ABRSM exams here

In this article I will try to cover a few tips that may help you with the choice of software that you will be purchasing. The first thing that you have to do is find the most affordable software that you can. The only way to determine this is to look at the prices and the features of all the software that you see. The Internet is not the best place to look because a lot of these programs are sold through these websites.Find out if there are any refunds or returns policy for your chosen software. Some of the software are notorious for not delivering on the quality that they promise. If the product does not deliver what it says it will do, then you would want to avoid the software completely. Also, if you are purchasing it from a friend, or online store, check on the return policies.Look for sof tware that is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows XP. This is going to make things easier for you since you are going to have more time in trying the software out and if the program is compatible, then it should run quickly. If you are not sure which version of Windows your computer is running, then ask your IT support representative for an identification of which version of Windows your computer is running. Many people are starting to use the computer as a primary source of entertainment as well as a source of work. However, there are times when it is necessary to take the computer outside and to do some work. This is where the usefulness of having English learning software for PC comes in. If you can't get the computer to work outside, then you may have to get the software to help you with that.If you are using the computer for both entertainment and work, then it will probably pay to learn a little bit more about your system. You want to make sure that you know the limitatio ns of the system so that you won't waste time and money by doing things that you cannot do.Lastly, make sure that you download the software from a trusted source. Price For Tutoring Per Hour Can Make Or Break Your Education
Price For Tutoring Per Hour Can Make Or Break Your EducationPrice for tutoring per hour is an ever increasing factor in private educational institutions in the United States. In recent years, the cost of tuition has increased by approximately three-quarters while the price of tutoring per hour has increased by an equal amount. Although the results of tutoring per hour may not be the focus of student tutors, parents and students are faced with financial constraints when looking for a private school.Private institutions are able to retain their tuition levels because they are required to take part in Federal research funding programs that allow private high schools to participate in the Federal Pell Grant program. Since competition for the Pell Grant program is so fierce, there are fewer grants available each year. This means that private schools must compete against other private schools that are willing to offer even less funding. This results in higher tuition costs and a decreased ability to maintain affordable fees. There are other private schools that are completely dependent on the student's ability to perform in a structured environment for high school students. All private schools are not created equal. In addition to other aspects of the program such as large attendance centers, smaller campuses and program structure, students should consider their own high school experience and school costs before selecting a private school. The classes they took, the programs they participated in, the private school they attended, the experiences they had in common with other students in the class and the experience they had while attending the school are all factors to consider. The most important factors to consider for private schools are the amount of time they have available for students to return for an in-depth study of the program. Large, rural schools do not have much money available to be allocated to extra-curricular activities; therefore, the cost of private tutoring per hour may be prohibitive. In addition, small, rural private schools can't afford to continue extra-curricular activities when there is so little available money to pay for them. The main feature to look for in private schools is the ability of the college to provide extracurricular programs. If the school offers a number of courses in addition to the traditional curriculum, this can bring down the price of tutoring per hour. The less the school can offer the student, the less likely the student will become dissatisfied with the program.Whether you choose a small rural private school or a large urban private school, make sure that the school's financial circumstances are better than your own. Price for tutoring per hour can be high or can be affordable depending on the quality of the educational program and the personal traits of the student.
